Welcome, everybody!

I am a single father with seven kids and nine grandkids.  I am a veteran having served for 14 years.

My first travel experience was in college.  In 2001, I did a 5-week study abroad in Italy.  I was amazed at the cultural differences and the things that I took for granted as an American.  Since then, I have been to Belgium, Italy, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Mexico, and Honduras.  I have also visited more than 30 states in the US.

My Bachelor's degree is in Classics.  I studied the ancient Roman and ancient Greek worlds.  Through the literature, I developed a love of their culture.  After my trip to Italy, that love of culture deepened.  Everywhere that I have been, I realized that their culture is different, their tastes in food, everything is so different from the life I knew as an American.  Realizing that on a planet of 8 billion people, only 300 million are in the USA.  I love experiencing other cultures and meeting people from other societies.

My first cruise was in 2022.  It was a short four-day jaunt from Galveston, Texas to Cozumel, Mexico.  I did the Tulum Aztec ruins excursion and absolutely loved the entire experience!  I took four of my kids on a cruise and we had a blast!
